Does the sprinkling system waste potable water? No. No city water is used to irrigate Lake Ridge Club.
The ponds, aside from aesthetics, serve several purposes. One purpose is to act as a reservoir for water which is used to supply the sprinkling system. Storm water is supplemented with water from an irrigation well. This system allows us to enjoy well-developed and lush green grass throughout the growing season without using any potable water or regard to watering bans and other restrictions which may be imposed by Burr Ridge.
Generally the sprinklers east of Lake Ridge Club Drive will run on Monday and Thursday, west of Lake Ridge Club Drive on Tuesday and Friday. There may be other times when the situation requires and the sprinklers run with no notice given.
